This is a matter of five thousand years ago when in the Satyuga, the king of Lanka, Ravana had abducted mother Sita by deceit. In search of Sita, Dashrath Nandan Shri Ram united the earth and sky, then he came to know that Ravana has taken Sita to his golden Lanka, but the problem was that how to cross this huge sea to reach Lanka. In such a situation, a sage told Ram that there are two warriors named Nal and Neel in your army, who have a boon that whatever stone they throw in the water, it will never drown. Then what was there, the work of building a bridge on the sea started. Shri Ram was written on the stones by Nal and Neel and were thrown into the sea. Then suddenly Shri Ram's eyes fell on a small squirrel, he was watching that squirrel very carefully because that squirrel was also throwing pebbles in its small hands into the sea. Ram was watching this act of that squirrel for a long time, when he could not bear it, then he asked the squirrel what are you doing. Then the squirrel told that these small stones of mine will work to fill the empty spaces left between these big stones and it happened that the hard work of the squirrel did not go waste, the strength of the bridge increased with its small stones. Shri Ram was surprised to see this and very pleased with that squirrel, so he blessed the squirrel by turning his hand on its back. It is believed that since that day the squirrel has the handprints of Shri Ram on its back which is a symbol of the blessings of Shri Ram.
