प्रभु श्री राम की जन्म कथा

महाराजा दशरथ ने पुत्र प्राप्ति के लिए यज्ञ किया। महाराज दशरथ ने श्यामकर्ण घोड़े को चतुरंगिनी सेना के साथ छुड़वाने का आदेश दिया। महाराज ने समस्त मनस्वी, तपस्वी, विद्वान ऋषि-मुनियों तथा वेदविज्ञ प्रकाण्ड पण्डितों को बुलावा भेजा। वो चाहते थे कि सभी यज्ञ में शामिल हों। यज्ञ का समय आने पर महाराज दशरख सभी अभ्यागतों और अपने गुरु वशिष्ठ जी समेतअपने परम मित्र अंग देश के अधिपति लोभपाद के जामाता ऋंग ऋषि के साथ यज्ञ मण्डप में पधारे। फिर विधिवत यज्ञ शुभारंभ किया गया। यज्ञ की समाप्ति के बाद समस्त पण्डितों, ब्राह्मणों, ऋषियों आदि को यथोचित धन-धान्य, गौ आदि भेंट दी गई हैं और उन्हें सादर विदा किया गया।

भगवान शिव का जन्म कैसे हुआ

यज्ञ के प्रसाद में बनी खीर को राजा दशरथ ने अपनी तीनों रानियों को दी। प्रसाद ग्रहण करने के परिणामस्वरूप तीनों रानियों गर्भवती हो गईं। सबसे पहले महाराज दशरश की बड़ी रानी कौशल्या ने एक शिशु को जन्म दिया जो बेहद ही कान्तिवान, नील वर्ण और तेजोमय था। इस शिशु का जन्म चैत्र मास की शुक्ल पक्ष की नवमी तिथि को हुआ था। इस समय पुनर्वसु नक्षत्र में सूर्य, मंगल शनि, वृहस्पति तथा शुक्र अपने-अपने उच्च स्थानों में विराजित थे। साथ ही कर्क लग्न का उदय हुआ था। फिर शुभ नक्षत्रों में कैकेयी और सुमित्रा ने भी अपने-अपने पुत्रों को जन्म दिया। कैकेयी का एक और सुमित्रा के दोनों पुत्र बेहद तेजस्वी थे।

महाराज के चारों पुत्रों के जन्म से सम्पूर्ण राज्य में आनन्द का माहौल था। हर कोई खुशी में गन्धर्व गान कर रहा था और अप्सराएं नृत्य करने लगीं। देवताओं ने पुष्प वर्षा की। महाराज ने ब्राह्मणों और याचकों को दान दक्षिणा दी और उन सभी ने महाराज के पुत्रों को आशीर्वाद दिया। प्रजा-जनों को महाराज ने धन-धान्य और दरबारियों को रत्न, आभूषण भेंट दी। महर्षि वशिष्ठ ने महाराज के पुत्रों का नाम रामचन्द्र, भरत, लक्ष्मण और शत्रुघ्न रखा।

जैसे-जैसे ये चारों बड़े होने लगे रामचन्द्र अपने गुणों से प्रजा के बीच बेहद लोकप्रिय हो गए। उनमें ऐसी विलक्षण प्रतिभा थी जिसके जरिए वो कम आयु में ही समस्त विषयों में पारंगत हो गए थे। वे हर बात में निपुण थे जैसे हर तरह के अस्त्र-शस्त्र चलाने में, हाथी-घोड़े की सवारी में आदि। वे अपने माता-पिता और गुरुजनों का बेहद आदर करते थे और उनकी सेवा में लगे रहते थे। उनके तीनों भाई भरत, लक्ष्मण और शत्रुघ्न भी उनका अनुसरण करते थे।

Maharaja Dasaratha performed a yagya to get a son. Maharaja Dasaratha ordered the Shyamkarna horse to be released along with the Chaturangini army. Maharaj sent a call to all the intellectuals, ascetics, learned sages and great scholars of Vedas. He wanted everyone to participate in the Yagya. When the time for Yagya came, Maharaj Dashrath came to the Yagya Mandap with all the visitors and his Guru Vashishtha along with his best friend Ring Rishi, the son-in-law of Lobhapad, the ruler of Ang Desh. Then the yagya was formally started. After the completion of the Yagya, all the Pandits, Brahmins, Rishis etc. have been presented with suitable money-grains, cows etc. and they are sent off with respect.

King Dashrath gave the Kheer made in the Yagya's Prasad to his three queens. All the three queens became pregnant as a result of taking the prasad. First of all, Kaushalya, the elder queen of Maharaja Dasarash, gave birth to a child who was extremely radiant, blue in color and radiant. This child was born on the ninth day of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. At this time, Sun, Mars, Saturn, Jupiter and Venus were sitting in their respective high places in Punarvasu Nakshatra. At the same time, Cancer Ascendant was born. Then Kaikeyi and Sumitra also gave birth to their respective sons in auspicious constellations. Kaikeyi's one and Sumitra's two sons were very bright.

There was an atmosphere of joy in the whole state due to the birth of the four sons of Maharaj. Everyone was singing Gandharva songs in happiness and the Apsaras started dancing. The gods showered flowers. The Maharaja gave charity and dakshina to the brahmins and the beggars and all of them blessed the sons of the Maharaja. The king presented wealth and grains to the subjects and gems and ornaments to the courtiers. Maharishi Vashishtha named the sons of Maharaj as Ramchandra, Bharata, Lakshmana and Shatrughna.

As these four started growing up, Ramchandra became very popular among the people due to his qualities. He had such a unique talent through which he became proficient in all subjects at an early age. He was expert in everything like using all kinds of weapons, riding elephant and horse etc. He respected his parents and teachers very much and used to serve them. His three brothers Bharata, Lakshmana and Shatrughna also followed him.
