चार धामों में से एक भारत के गुजरात राज्य में स्थित द्वारका धाम है, जिसे द्वारकाधीश मंदिर के नाम से जाना जाता है। इसे कभी-कभी जगत मंदिर भी कहा जाता है। यह मंदिर विष्णु अवतार भगवान कृष्ण को समर्पित है। यहां द्वारकाधीश के रूप में भगवान कृष्ण की पूजा की जाती है। यह शब्द "द्वारका की तरह" के रूप में अनुवादित है।
अक्रूर जी और श्री कृष्ण की कहानी
मंदिर की संरचना एक पांच मंजिला इमारत है जो 72 स्तंभों द्वारा समर्थित है। पुरातत्व से पता चलता है कि मंदिर 2000 से 2200 साल पुराना है। हालांकि, वास्तविकता यह है कि मंदिर की मुख्य संरचना कृष्ण के पोते के अलावा किसी और ने स्थापित नहीं की थी। यह हरि गृह के नाम से जाने जाने वाले स्थान पर बनाया गया है, जिसका अर्थ है कृष्ण का निवासी।
लेकिन मूल मंदिर को इस्लामिक आक्रमणकारियों ने वर्ष 1472 में नष्ट कर दिया था। बाद में इसका पुनर्निर्माण और विस्तार किया गया। मंदिर का पुनर्निर्माण राजपूत राजा जगत सिंह राठौर ने करवाया था।

द्वारका, जिस शहर में द्वारकादीश स्थित है, उसका उल्लेख महाभारत जैसे प्राचीन ग्रंथों में मिलता है।
यह भगवान कृष्ण के राज्य की राजधानी भी थी। आज तक, शहर गोमती पर स्थित है। अभी भी पुरातात्विक संकेत हैं कि बंदरगाह के आसपास शहर के अवशेष हैं जो प्राचीन काल के हो सकते हैं।

One of the Char Dhams is the Dwarka Dham, also known as the Dwarkadhish Temple, located in the Indian state of Gujarat. It is also sometimes called Jagat Mandir. This temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna, an incarnation of Vishnu. Lord Krishna is worshiped here in the form of Dwarkadhish. The word translates as "like Dwaraka".
Akrur Ji Aur Shri Krishna Ki Kahani
The temple structure is a five-storied building supported by 72 pillars. Archeology shows that the temple is 2000 to 2200 years old. However, the reality is that the main structure of the temple was established by none other than Krishna's grandson. It is built at a place known as Hari Griha, which means the abode of Krishna.
But the original temple was destroyed by Islamic invaders in the year 1472. It was later rebuilt and expanded. The temple was rebuilt by Rajput king Jagat Singh Rathore.
However, long before this, it was added as part of the Char Dham by Adi Shankaracharya, who is believed to be an incarnation of Shiva. Along with this, he also built Dhams in four other parts of India, which are known as Rameshwaram, Badrinath and Puri. Even today there is a memorial dedicated to him in the temple.
Shri Dwarkadhish Dham History
Dwarka, the city in which Dwarkadish is located, finds mention in ancient texts such as the Mahabharata.
It was also the capital of Lord Krishna's kingdom. To this day, the city is situated on the Gomti. There are still archaeological indications that there are remains of a city around the port which may date back to ancient times.
This goes well with the fact that the original city of Dwarka sank into the sea. As we have already read, the original temple was destroyed by Islamic invaders. But it was rebuilt in the Chalukya style in the 15-16th century.
Shri Krishna Aur Aristasura Vadh Ki Khani
As such, being a temple of Vishnu Avatar, the customs and traditions here are traditional Vaishnava. Adi Shankaracharya himself also visited the dhama, and there is a shrine dedicated to him in the temple itself.
